7 Point Guide to Avoid Miscommunication with Renders

Architecture

What will our home look like? What will be the size of the room? What will be the view from the living room? These are all the questions every architect has to answer at a point. What better answer than a real-time render to communicate all the possibilities of the design? The endless number of software and plugins comes to the rescue for creating and rendering the concepts and animations to present to the clients in an impressive way. But have you ever compared the renderings with a real project? You might see some design mistakes in the halfway.

In this article, we are going to discuss how real time-renders can be misleading sometimes. Here are the most important points to consider while depending on the renders.

1. Context matters

Setting your residence or commercial building in a calmer and serene surrounding with bright blue skies and greener scenery sure seems like the best way to present your ideas for the elevation to the client. But, when it comes to reality, it might be set amidst a crowded housing area. So, a clearer picture of how the residence will be in the actual context is not given any importance. Therefore, it should be a priority to take into consideration the context in which the building is set in.

2. Know your boundaries

Most of the exterior render does not include the compound wall, hence the client won’t get a clearer picture of the plot boundary. The plot seems endless in the render mostly but in actual, there won’t be enough space in the yards as shown as in the render.

3. Lighting

Yes, lighting is one of the critical design mistakes. A heavily lit night render is truly a pleasing view. But makes sure that the number of light fixtures used and light (let it be warm or cool) is exactly the same you are planning to provide in the project. Sometimes, they are provided just for the “Effect”.

4. Size of the room

Hiding the walls to get the maximized view of the room is one technique that is frequently used when it comes to interior renders. This may lead to some confusion in knowing the actual size of the room. So its always better to rely on 360-degree views or VR technique to get a clearer picture of the actual size of the room.

5. Views

Having a great french window in your dining room to enjoy that little greenery outside? Make sure that the greenery shown in the render is there present in the actual site and it was not just an element to make the render look more appealing.

6. Significance of point of view

The actual residence is viewed by the observer from eye level. Hence, the view from eye level should be given utter importance rather than Bird’s eye view or Worm’s eye view which can create dramatic effects.

7. Uses of textures, fixtures and furniture

Its always better to go with the actual textures and furniture planning to provide rather than the fancy ones which make the render more appealing. This gives the client a better idea of how their home will look like.
